COMMUNITY INVOLVEMENT
The Ideal Group strives to develop positive relationships within the communities where we live and work. Ideal acts upon the belief that it is essential for community organizations, local government, business and education to work collaboratively to build the metropolitan knowledge and talent base.
Recruiting and Mentorship Practices
The Ideal Group workforce consists of a multicultural blend of Southwest Detroit and Southeastern Michigan residents. The Ideal mentorship program provides significant professional and personal growth opportunities in all business units and employment classifications.
Employee Mentoring
A company’s success is only as great as the growth of the people it employs. Ideal encourages and assists with professional growth and internal advancement by the mentoring philosophy that is a continuous practice here.
Antonio Rivera is a prime example. Antonio is Ideal Shield’s Southeast Regional Manager running the Fort Myers, Florida office. Antonio Rivera was hired with the help of the Southwest Detroit G.R.A.C.E program (Gang Retirement and Continuous Education). People’s Magazine and Ford Motor Company have recognized Antonio as a “Hero of the Community.”
Local and National Mentorship
Under the Venegas leadership, Ideal key management mentor emerging minority business leaders both locally and nationally. The business mentorship objective is to strengthen and influence the community at large by growing the local business talent and leadership. It is critical that metropolitan employers look to their neighborhoods when hiring. It is important to include an ongoing mentorship program.
Clothing and Food Drives
Ideal companies and employees shared their Christmas spirit with Latino Family Services, LA SED, Detroit Hispanic Development Corporation and Vistas Nuevas Head Start. Ideal employees look forward to these annual activities: buying toys, giving cash donations; the glove/mitten/scarf drives and adopting needy families every holiday season.
